How to create a subtle slide background

I have thinking about backgrounds in slides for a long time. Subtle backgrounds can enhance the mood of the topic you are presenting. Now, this is subjective. So be aware, the result I'm going to show you might not match your taste.

So here is the tutorial. I'll be using Gimp 2.10.

0. Open Gimp
1. Create a new image by File > New.

Width 1920px by Height 1080px with white background.

2. Render noise by Filters > Noise > Hurl.

You should experiment with the shown Randomization percent and Repeat values. Other possible values are  Randomization = 10% and Repeat = 2.  The more randomization, the darker the image will be.

3. Blur the rendered noise by Filters > Blur > Linear Motion Blur.

4. Change the transparency of the image by changing the opacity value in the layer dialog (press Ctrl+L, if you don't see that dialog). A value around 30% opacity is appropriate.

Export it as the png. The final result looks like this.

Here is the slide with background texture on black background color, white background color and again grey.
